his feet hurt so bad he threatens to have them cut off. He is taking Neurontin 300mg 3 x day but its not helping. If he tries to take more it makes him sick. What else can we do? What other treatments are out there? He knows he should have taken better care of his diabetes but now he is. Also now his skin is getting sensitive especially when he first puts on his shirt, then it gradually subsides. What's causing this?

I have taken neurontin and now take Lyrica for a short time. Are drugs the only thing a doctor can recommend? This condition ruins my life.

Would like to hear from anyone who's primary neuropathy is to the entire legs and feet. Burning, icy hot sensations and burning restless feet. It is mot diabetic. I am taking large doses of neurontin and mirapex and am just barely comfortable. Has your Dr. diagnosed a possible cause?

I have peripheral neuropathy ( numbness) in my feet. I am not a diabetic. I have had this now for 1 1/2 years. The 2 neuroligist I've been to do not know the cause. I've taken Neurontin and it really has been no help. Does anyony know of any kind of treatment program which might include some therapy like electronic stimulation and maybe a more effective drug. I am desperate. This is ruining my life.

I am a type 1 diabetic. I am on an insulin pump now due to the fact my pancreas is completely shot. I have started to experience neuropathy in my feet. I have seen a few doctors and other diabetic people and will be at my endocrinologist soon. I have been told by many many medical professionals that a visit to a neurologist as well as new meds..possibly neurontin or other meds will be in order. I wanted to ask anyone who has diabetic neuropathy...what do you do? how have you made it better? what has made it worse? I know that lowering you sugar level (A1C) over time decreases the risks of it worsening but how do you deal once you have it? Im extremely worried I will become an amputee. Your guidance and knowledge will help me calm my fears. Thank you.
