i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 years ago and seem like ive tried a million different things and had serval different doctors, but nothing has worked yet. The pain has been getting worse. I hear about older people with this but have yet to meet anyone my age with it. I wish i could talk to someone else with it.

I am getting good sleep and stoped eating junk foods. Im drinking lots of water and just pretty much trying everything. And it only seems to keep getting worse.

Every morning i wake up so stiff and can barely move or get out of my bed. when certain joints are really inflamed they feel like a sprain or broken bone. My fingers hurt so bad after writing and walking down stairs takes me a while. I feel so old and sometimes i just cry thinking that i will get no answers.

Please give me some kind of advice. Thank you.
I also have a 2 year old and I need to get better to be able to take better care of him. Right now I depend on his dad so much with help and I just want to be a healthy mom. I cant even see myself having more kids at this point cause I dont know how id be able to have the energy. And Ive always wanted lots of kids. : (

I'm trying to tie the onset to how I think it all started. I know it was a virus that somehow affected my thyroid. I developed severe thyroiditis but since doctors didn't recognize the symptoms I got no treatment. Now I have fibromyalgia. I've read that it can start with a trauma of some kind and the nerves just get crossed wired to the brain. What's your experience?

I have fibromyalgia, similar to MS, all my nuerologist want to do is drug me, I am not for it, what are your resourcesif you have the illness or know of someone that does? I am in Detroit area suburbs. My insurance stinks

I am a Registered Nurse who has had fibromyalgia for almost 3 years. I have been seeing an internal medicine doc the entire time. Besides prescribing pain meds, antidepressants, a muscle relaxer and Lyrica, my doc really hasn't been able to improve my health status. I have a pharmacy of meds to take every day; and I just think we are putting a band-aid on the symptoms, not treating the cause. I am almost positive I am also dealing with myofascial pain syndrome and chronic fatigue syndrome. That is a little history, so here is my question. Has anyone had any exposure to the Fibro and Fatigue clinics? I am aware they test for a LOT of problems and they do unconventional treatments that work for some people. But my problem is the cost of the visits. I was told it is almost 0 a vistit for the 1st two visits. On top of that, it is cash up front, and they can't even file on your insurance. Why is that? But then again, I would gladly spend 0 to get my life back.

It seems the questions has been resolved and I just don't have much time to read all of the answer regarding fibromayalgia?
Well, believe me or not,I hope you are not the lady I met almost a year ago?My family were stranded at Malpenza or Bergamo airport ,as it was snowing, the lady beside me and I talked until she shared her experiencedof cured fibromyalgia. She' d been on benefits for years(?)and there she had a surgery and it worked for her.Anyway, she is swiss who (had sugery in Geneva, not sure)would like to have a job interview that time for London.Unfortunately,we did not exchange telephone numbers or address.

I have leg cramps, abdominal spasms and pain, shoulder muscle pain, low back ache, and jaw pain. All of these are supposedly associated with fibromyalgia symptoms, along with many others. Has anyone out there found any alternative or otc treatments to help? The prescription Lyrica and Cymbalta didn't help, nor did acupuncture. So those would have to be left off my choices. I am at my wits end, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thought I would add also that there aren't really any knowledgeable doctors in my area regarding fibromyalgia and I can't afford massages as they're not covered by my insurance otherwise I would use them for the back muscle cramps. I haven't chosen any one answer as best because no one's come up with anything I haven't already tried, other than the foot pads.

I have fibromyalgia and possible rheumatoid arthritis. What are some good treatments/remedies that you or someone you know has found to be helpful?

My wife suffers from Fibromyalgia and no one and nothing has helped thus far. She has tried Celebrex, and other meds. All Doctors seem frustrated by this. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

So, my wife has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple of years ago and searching on the subject i found this website.

I googled this Goodman fella and he seems solid but i hope someone can confirm this as true or "working".

Thanks

I need help learning about Fibromyalgia and what treatments others use for relief I get the feeling that the community thinks I'm looking for Schedule II Drugs, ie narcotics and I absolutely don't want that. Thank you

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia as a result of an allergic reaction. I have significant swelling in my joints, which seem to be closely associated with changes in weather or severe weather. Most everything I read about fibromyalgia talks about muscle issues, but mine is purely in the joints, though I did react pretty strongly to the 'pressure points' indicative of this disease. I cannot live forever on pain killers and anti-inflammatories.

I was wanting to know if there was anyone who could tell me what treatments there are for fibromyalgia. If you could name specific medicines it would be helpful. I also suffer from chronic fatigue and its ruining me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue - I was given Endep to treat these and they worked quite well EXCEPT they brought out my Bipolar so I cant take it - My Dr said that Endep is the only known treatment for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue other than exercise, meditation or yoga were his suggestions - exercise is a day to day thing - sometimes I have no problems other days I have pain with very little exercise - has anyone had success with other treatments? I have tried accupuncture but it didnt do much - it made it worse to start with as I was warned it would and then it did make it better but Im not financially able to keep it up all the time.

I also have high blood pressure and thyroid trouble. my sysmptoms are leg pain and daytime sleepiness. I had a sleep study done and was told that I have the Fibromyalgia. I am on meds for depression , highblood pressure and thyroid. I already take the zanaflex and ultracet and voltarin. Along with klopin wellbutrin synthroid and topral xl and a baby asprin. What else can be done? What type of dr should I go to to have this treated? Any help would be great.

My doctor says he beleives that I have fibromyalgia. My mom has suffered from this for 20 years also so I guess it is hereditary. I am wondering what other people do for the pain and what they have tried out and what works best to help.

I am a twenty-one year old, female, diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and REM sleep disorder. My Dr. is now questioning the possibility of Myofascial Pain Syndrome... In the past I have tried physical therapy, acupuncture and multiple prescribed medications both for the pain and the sleep problems... none have been quite sufficient or cost effective, in the long run... any suggestions?

I have had fibromyalgia and myofascitis for over 7 yrs. and have had every possible treatment...injections and more meds than any one person could handle...I am looking for alternative treatments that don't cost alot of money

I; have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years, other than just taking pain meds. there has been nothing to relieve the symptoms, have tried many natural remedies as well. Is there anything new on the market, or any new treatments?

Not MS, not Lupus, then what?

I have been seeing a neurologist due to extreme muscle and joint pain, i stumble a lot, drop things, forgetfullness. I do have fibromyalgia and have for years. I also have peripheral neuropathy ( no diabetes) I have had tests to rule out Lupus and MS (which does run in the family) Lupus is neg, not enough points or evidence for MS, ( no lesions on the brain) but does not mean i do not have it. So now he wants to do more aggressive and specific testing. What I want are some suggestions of what it might be from those who experiene this, so that i can read up on it so that I can ask questions and not look like a dope when we discuss different possible causes and treatments.

I'd like to know what are some good medications or treatments I can do for fibromyalgia besides going to the doctor. Thanks

I've had fibromyalgia since 1991 and have been treated with P.T., medications (tramadol, elavil, clonopin, & lorab), stretching, massage therapy (when I can afford it), and some biofeedback. My neck and back are so tied in knots it feels like concrete. My current regiman barely gets me by. I have worked steadily since diagnosed, and done some pretty physical type jobs. I do believe staying active is much better than laying around feeling sorry for myself. It helps me take my mind off of the pain if I keep busy. I couldn't afford to live on disability even if I wanted to, lol.
I have tried tens units, and water aerobics/therepy without any relief.

I am curious about yoga being a possible help to me.

fibromyalgia treatments?

Lyrica usage for fibromyalgia . Has anyone used or know anything about this drug
