Best treatment or medication for pancreatitus?
My mother has had multiple illnesses during the past five years and has spent everyday nauseated and throwing up. She has no gall stone or gall bladder and has been put on so many meds that it has caused one ailment after the other. She is diabetic, has an auto immune disease, blood pressure problems, neuropathy, arthritis, ect...Now she has been diagnosed with pancreatitus and I'm wondering what the best treatment is so she can stop throwing up and being nauseated. She is tired and on the brinks of just giving up.

How awful for your mother. I’m very sorry.
Pancreatitis is a very serious illness. In an acute form, hospitalization may be necessary. In the chronic form, which I suspect your mother has, treatment is multi-faceted. The most important part of the equation is getting her blood sugar under control. Second is making sure her diet is low in fats that can cause a problem. In addition, her doctor may prescribe pancreatic enzymes. She may also be offered analgesics or perhaps a nerve block for pain relief. If testing reveals a blockage, her doctor may be recommending surgery.
Treating the myriad of health problems your mother has can be a real challenge, not only for her but for the healthcare professionals treating her and for family members as well. If you haven’t already, you may want to consult with a nutritionist and perhaps ask for a consult with an endocrinologist.
